The Facilities Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining general housekeeping and integrity of both manufacturing and office facilities, conducting routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, and addressing unexpected breakdowns and damages in these buildings.
Job DescriptionThe Facilities Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining general housekeeping and integrity of both manufacturing and office facilities, conducting routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, and addressing unexpected breakdowns and damages in these buildings. The role collaborates closely with Buildings & Grounds Maintenance and Engineering departments.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThis role will help oversee the general upkeep of the building and its infrastructure, including, but not limited to;
- Assist with interior and exterior building maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, lighting replacement, signage, and basic carpentry.
- Cleaning of areas outside typical contractor’s scope of work (ie. aisleways, windows, doors, etc.)
- Support the establishment of visual pedestrian walkways (ie. painted walkways, installation of guardrails, etc.)
- Support grounds maintenance activities including snow removal, lawn care coordination, debris removal, and outdoor cleanup.
- Assist with seasonal preparation activities (winterization, weather‑related readiness).
- Support the maintenance of heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems to ensure functionality and performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of facility items to identify and resolve issues.
- Help move, setup, and remove equipment, furniture, and materials related to facility projects.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance, housekeeping, or general labor. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Basic carpentry skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety standards
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40lbs as needed.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
