We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner for our residents.
Responsibilities:- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities
- Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments
- Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program and perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, and evaluations
- Supervise maintenance personnel and ensure they follow established safety regulations and procedures
- Forecast needs for the department and make adjustments to conform to approved budgets
- Ensure that maintenance policies and procedures identify appropriate safety precautions and equipment to use when performing tasks that could result in bodily injury
- Place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary and ensure that equipment contaminated with blood or other infectious material is properly labeled or tagged before being set for repair or decontamination
- High school education or equivalent required; 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/plant related position preferred
- Knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- Licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
- Must meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum of 50 feet
