Job Overview

Under direct supervision and well established guidelines this position performs a variety of routine administrative/secretarial duties to support a department, school/college, program or unit.

Duties include greeting visitors, data entry, faxing, filing, answering incoming calls, photocopying, making appointments, ordering supplies, maintaining files, records, and calendars.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Greets visitors.
  • Prepares and types letters, simple memos, emails, labels, routine correspondence.
  • Photocopies and/or distributes reports, presentations.
  • Enters information into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory and orders supplies.
  • Answers phones, routes callers, takes messages.
  • Makes appointments, schedules rooms.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of standard office procedures, word processing, spreadsheet, email and databases (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
