Position Overview
The Department of History at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), a Carnegie classified R2 institution, seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor who value its mission and share its commitment to inclusive excellence and the building of a just society. The department seeks a dedicated teacher‑scholar with evidence of or the potential for teaching excellence. This is a non‑tenure‑track faculty appointment for the academic year of August
2026–May
2027. Continuation beyond the initial term, if any, will be determined based on institutional needs and applicable review processes. A PhD in Latin American History or a relevant field is required; however, ABD candidates who demonstrate substantial teaching experience will be considered. Six‑course teaching load for the academic year (3‑3). Successful candidates will teach lower‑division courses in colonial and modern Latin American history and modern world history, as well as upper‑division courses in their field of expertise.

Salary and Visa InformationFaculty Regular Reasonable expected salary: $71,042.00. Please note that this position may not be eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
