Overview
The Department of Psychological Science at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) position. The role emphasizes research, teaching, mentorship, and service within an inclusive, justice‑oriented academic community.
Responsibilities- Maintain an active program of scholarship in clinical, community, or health psychology.
- Teach undergraduate courses (general psychology, statistics, research methods, specialty courses) and, when possible, contribute to the Core Curriculum.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students in research and scholarly activities.
- Participate in departmental, university‑wide, and community service.
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in Psychology or a closely related field by August 15, 2027.
- Record of active scholarship with peer‑reviewed publications.
- Strong commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, especially from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience or dedication to research that addresses social justice and equity.
- Teaching experience in a liberal arts environment that aligns with LMU’s mission.
Semester‑to‑semester teaching load: 40% teaching (approximately 4‑unit classes on a 2‑2‑2‑3 rotation). The remaining time is divided into 40% research and 20% service.
Salary & BenefitsAnnual base salary: $94,000.00, paid over 12 months.
