Overview

Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Partnerships, this position serves as the key contact for oversight of CPD’s events and programs. The coordinator manages all aspects of the Mane Apparel career closet and supervises student workers.

Responsibilities
  • Organize high‑quality, well‑planned creative events and programs including CPD signature events, career expos, workshops, and other special events.
  • Develop and maintain an organized events/programs calendar; coordinate meetings to keep timelines and execution on track with CPD staff, campus community, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the entire event planning process: on‑site logistics (catering, signage, displays, special needs, staging, security), services such as parking, lodging, transportation for speakers and VIP participants, and inventory tracking.
  • Draft event layouts in consultation with CPD event leads; oversee event registration and create online registration forms, event tips pages, nametags, etc.
  • Coordinate all student engagement messaging to enhance CPD’s brand image and presence; prepare event timelines and manage print and delivery deadlines with Enrollment Management and LMU Marketing & Communications.
  • Distribute targeted information about events and career opportunities via Handshake, print collateral, and social media.
  • Collaborate with the Enrollment Management Communications and Marketing team to design, print, and distribute CPD event flyers, handouts, social media tiles, signage, and branded digital promotions in line with LMU guidelines.
  • Represent CPD at monthly LMU‑wide Marketing and Communications Managers meetings and serve as the CPD liaison to LMU Student Media.
  • Supervise student workers dedicated to events and promotions, providing mentorship and support.
  • Participate in setting department goals, planning programs and events, and assist with overall operations as part of the CPD staff.
  • Contribute to the Division of Enrollment Management and Career and Professional Development through campus‑wide events and committees as requested.
  • Represent the university through participation in national and regional professional associations and in strategic partnerships with LMU employers, alumni, parents, and other external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Typically a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of administrative support experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in event/program management, promotions, public relations, social media management, publicity, brand strategy, or student services.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of event planning best practices (menu planning, food selection, theme decorations, ambiance, etc.).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of effective promotional strategies with exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Hootsuite, Wufoo, and social media platforms; ability to learn new software systems.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time‑management skills; able to handle multiple projects independently and manage detailed tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; tactful under pressure; good judgment; proactive troubleshooting; teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with academic environments and experiential learning best practices.
Salary

Staff Regular Salary range: $25.87 – $32.31 per hour. Salary commensurate with education and experience. This position may not be eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
