Seasonal Leaf Crew Position
The Seasonal Leaf Crew positions are scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime opportunities available on an as needed basis. The season ends in December 2026. Nature of work performs physically demanding outdoor leaf collection and maintenance duties, as assigned, for approximately 12 weeks during the season.
SupervisionThis work is performed under the direction of the Public Service Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Functions of Work- Performs tasks necessary to remove leaves from Westerville streets and property
- Carries out any assigned responsibilities relating to the City of Westerville Service Department as directed by supervisors
- Carries out additional responsibilities as assigned
- Cleans and maintains equipment and reports problems to supervisor
- This position is required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Valid State of Ohio driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of the current methods, materials, practices and tools to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to exercise good judgment and function within broad guidelines
- Ability to work effectively with other City personnel and the public
