Rae Ann Suburban is Now hiring a Maintenance Assistant. POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Worker provides a variety of standard and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of facility grounds and facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.
- Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Maintains and repairs basic functions of the facility as determined by the Maintenance Director.
- Takes care of the tools and equipment;
Ensures proper documentation is maintained. - Participates with Maintenance Director/designee in survey processes by instructing staff regarding conduct and disclosure, reporting, being present at all times surveyors are on-site, directing prompt responses to requests for information, and undertaking corrective action, if appropriate.
- Maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
- Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
- Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day.
- Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
- Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
- Carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations, and with facility philosophy, policies and procedures.
- This position requires standing, sitting, stooping, pulling, pushing, lifting up to 75 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Good organizational skills.
- Agile and in good physical health.
- Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.
