Maintenance Worker, General Labor, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cut grass and maintain lawn
• Trim around trees, walkways and memorial markers
• Lays sod
• Moves and removes flowers to and from chapel and graveside
• Clear debris and maintain driveways and walkways, including snow removal when necessary
• Erect tents, canopies and arrange chairs for graveside ceremony
• Assist with setup and teardown for interments, entombments and inurnments
• Arrange chapel for services
• Prepare crypts for entombments
• Under supervision, operate backhoe to dig graves without damaging surrounding vaults, markers or monuments
• Install grave markers, bronze memorials, crypt faces, etc.
• Maintain and repair existing markers and other cemetery features
• Maintain, service, clean and properly store equipment
• General maintenance of vehicles
• Cleans and maintain facility, including performing minor repairs and painting
• Observe safety rules and ensure compliance with operating procedures and regulations, including OSHA and safety and environmental guidelines

• Education:
  
  High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 6 months of relevant experience

• Operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, pick, rake, sledge hammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower)
• Accurately use measuring devices (tape measure, yard stick, etc.)
• Walk and stand for long periods of time
• Lift up to 150 lbs with equipment assistance
• Push and pull up to 300 lbs
• Communicate effectively with associates, contractor personnel and client families
• Work in extreme weather conditions
• Adapt to changing work schedules and multitask
• Basic computer skills for email communication

Salary: $16.50/hr - $20.50/hr
