• Possession of high school diploma or GED equivalent (college is highly desirable)
• Be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment
• Possession of valid Colorado post basic certificate of completion
• Possession of valid Colorado driver’s license
• Ability to effectively read, write and speak English
• Ability to use tact and courtesy in dealing with the public
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility for employment in the US
• Free of felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
• History of demonstrated maturity, good judgment, and ethical behavior
• Must be able to lawfully possess a firearm
• Residency requirement – must live within 35 miles of the county line
