Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Do you enjoy working outside? And fixing things and working with your hands?
Position Responsibilities- Maintain clean and tidy farm grounds using front end loader, mower, weed-eater, and other yard maintenance tools; manage trash and foot‑pans
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Keep vehicles and farm equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by performing regular maintenance and repairs
- Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform various duties
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work environment
- Biosecure - this is a shower in/shower out facility every time you go from outside to inside and vice‑versa
- Fast paced work environment
- Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis
- Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb
- Work in a general farm environment around live animals; must be able to tolerate a dusty, dirty work environment
- Previous grounds maintenance experience; front end loader/forklift certification
- Previous vehicle mechanic, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair skills
- Excellent safety habits and organization
- Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessary in all types of weather
- Willing to work 6 days per week, including weekend days
- 2 years of experience in related roles
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish
