Grounds Maintenance​/Layer Farm

Do you enjoy working outside? And fixing things and working with your hands?

• Maintain clean and tidy farm grounds using front end loader, mower, weed-eater, and other yard maintenance tools; manage trash and foot‑pans
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
• Keep vehicles and farm equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by performing regular maintenance and repairs
  • Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform various duties
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work environment

• Biosecure - this is a shower in/shower out facility every time you go from outside to inside and vice‑versa
• Fast paced work environment
• Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis
• Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb
• Work in a general farm environment around live animals; must be able to tolerate a dusty, dirty work environment

• Previous grounds maintenance experience; front end loader/forklift certification
• Previous vehicle mechanic, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair skills
• Excellent safety habits and organization
• Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessary in all types of weather
• Willing to work 6 days per week, including weekend days

• 2 years of experience in related roles
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish
