In this position, you will perform general maintenance and custodial duties at Sertich Ice Center. This is a .5 full‑time position with benefits averaging 20 hours per week. The role is subject to budget‑required furloughs in the 2026 calendar year.

• General ice maintenance includes:
  • Resurfacing
  • Edging
  • Filling holes
  • Chipping ice along dasher boards
  • Maintaining proper ice thickness as required by usage
• Ice arena upkeep – taking out trash, cleaning locker rooms and bathrooms
• General facility maintenance and repairs
• Operate and maintain ice rink equipment including a Zamboni machine
• Assist front desk staff with customer‑service duties during busy periods

• Ice maintenance procedures and standards
• Facility maintenance procedures and standards

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
• Work independently with little or no supervision

• Completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)

This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, enter and exit underground vaults via ladders, and walk or stand to a significant degree.
