ABOUTTHE JOB
Our Truck Drivers are reliable and dependable and represent Helena in a courteous and professional manner while on the road and at the office. They use tact and diplomacy with customers, colleagues, and leaders. Drivers are home daily and receive benefits starting on their first day.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE- Assists in loading trailers with materials.
- Unloads trailers using forklift or hand truck.
- Transports loads over the required route to proper destinations.
- Obtains shipping bills and necessary signatures.
- Returns completed paperwork to the shipping office.
- Removes empty skids from the trailer truck and carries them to the designated piling area.
- Performs miscellaneous vehicle service duties such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and tire air daily.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Completes other work‑related duties as assigned by a leader.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Class A or B CDL is required.
- Hazmat endorsement is preferred.
- Tanker endorsement is required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license is required to operate a company vehicle, and must meet all company requirements.
Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOBAt Helena, safety is our highest priority. We implement extensive safety measures to minimize exposure to potentially harmful conditions for employees.
The work environment for this position is a warehouse/outdoor setting with moderate to loud noise levels and occasional very loud bursts. The driver works outdoors in all weather conditions, in a warehouse, and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, biological hazards, vibrations, and electrical shock risks.
Physical tasks include using hands for various tasks and speaking, hearing, walking, sitting, standing (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to and including 50 lbs, reaching overhead up to and including 25 lbs, climbing, gripping, grasping, twisting with hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods, working below knee levels for short periods, and working above shoulder level for short periods.
