Custodian III

Join the Town of Wethersfield! Working under the general supervision of the Custodial Maintenance Supervisor, this role involves guiding, directing, and collaborating with Custodian I and II staff to ensure the school facilities are properly cleaned and maintained.

• Oversees, directs, and evaluates the performance of Custodian I and II staff, and delegates tasked based on established Town practice.
• Meets with building principal or Custodial Maintenance Supervisor to discuss work related needs and suggestions for improvement of job-related tasks. Receives oral or written instructions from Physical Services senior staff or follows a standard preventative maintenance schedule.
• Cleans, sweeps, mops, shampoos, and vacuums assigned rooms, hallways, restrooms and other work areas.
• Conducts routine equipment maintenance, such as lubricating motors, changing filters, and checking fluid levels.
• Moves furniture, sets up and breaks down rooms for events, and assists with facility operations and supplies.
• Performs minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical repairs, including replacing fluorescent lights and ballasts.

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years prior custodial experience.
• Considerable knowledge and experience of modern cleaning methods, materials, tools and equipment.

Salary Hourly: 27.41 - 37.01

Annually: $57,018 - $76,975
