The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and analysis for the Ziegenfelder company. The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results‑oriented professional who is an innovative thinker and possesses strong analytical, problem‑resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.

This role, supported by a strong Finance & Accounting Tribe, will assist in developing and driving a proactive, collaborative partnership among the leadership team, driving constructive and engaging conversations, monitoring stakeholder feedback, and identifying trends and opportunities to advance Ziegenfelder’s overall business & mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Support the monthly close and reporting process, and provide analytical analysis and decision support.
  • Review accounting records and transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy.
  • Participate in the timely preparation, review and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, local management reports, cost‑allocation reports, and capital‑expenditure reporting.
  • Develop and prepare relevant, meaningful and comprehensive management reports providing comparisons to budget and historical trends.
  • Actively support the financial audit process.
  • Supervise and train entry‑ and mid‑level accounting staff.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile and balance general‑ledger accounts, research and correct posting discrepancies, and provide accounting support to internal customers.
  • Evaluate manual and automated financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for workflow efficiency, and lead process reviews and improvement initiatives, as well as develop or improve internal controls around key risks.
  • Lead routine assessments of cost allocations to ensure accuracy and relevance under existing business conditions and practices.
  • Drive alignment and consistency within business areas including Sales, Operations, Engineering, Marketing and P&C.
  • Partner with stakeholders, understand their needs, and provide tools and processes they can leverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and GAAP.
  • Ability to work in a rigorous environment where priorities change quickly, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to partner cross‑functionally, building strong relationships, influencing, negotiating, and communicating with all levels of management.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and experienced with budgeting, financial reporting and general‑ledger software applications.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of information and exhibit a high level of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Work well under pressure and meet required deadlines.
  • Sound independent judgment.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up, managing, and reconciling EDI transactions.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm.
  • MBA with a concentration in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or CPA.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical, data, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Power

    BI, Excel forecasting models.
  • Merger and acquisition experience preferred;
    Cap Ex modeling and scenario planning.
