Position Details
The Village of Wheeling is accepting applications for the position of Community Service Officer in the Police Department.
The Community Service Officer provides support to sworn personnel by:
- Responding to non-emergency calls for service
- Assisting the public
- Enforcing Village ordinances and parking regulations
- Handling animal-related complaints
- Assisting with community events and safety initiatives
- Performing other duties that support the day-to-day operations of the Police Department
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some knowledge of criminal justice operations, rules, and regulations
- Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Training or experience in animal control, handling, or related techniques, as well as training or experience working with the public, preferably in a law enforcement or public safety setting.
