Overview
Machine Operator (I / II/ III ) — Job Classification:
Hourly.
Reports to:
Production Supervisor/Manager.
Job Summary:
Safely and efficiently operate equipment to which is assigned in a manner that ensure Company standards for quality are continuously met while consistently attaining goals for productivity.
- Performs all tasks and functions of the job in a safe manner that upholds Company standards for product quality.
- Work all regular and overtime scheduled shifts.
- Trained to satisfactorily operate any of the following packaging line equipment; filler, case packer, labeler, palletizer
- Is knowledgeable of requirements of the various changeovers and takes the lead in efficiently and effectively executing them as necessary throughout the production schedule.
- Makes every reasonable effort to avoid downtime or to shorten periods of unavoidable downtime.
- Knowledgeable of daily line routines for set-up, start-up, and/or shut down and perform each as the need for them applies.
- Operates equipment on rotating basis with other operators.
- Provides varying levels of “on-the-job” training to new operator candidates as well as assisting with continuing development of peer and lesser experienced operators as need and opportunity presents.
- Makes an ongoing effort to expand personal base of knowledge in regards to function of this position and increasingly applies this knowledge over time to continuously improve overall line performance.
- Attends Company sponsored training and informational meetings when scheduled.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Qualified experience on current plant packaging machinery is beneficial.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) preferred.
- Experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing preferred.
- Experience working in a production environment with food or other FDA regulated products preferred.
- Occasionally exposed to hazards in a manufacturing environment not limited to, physical, chemical or airborne hazards
- Loud working environment
- Required to stand for the duration of the production shift.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at or above shoulder level.
The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $18.00 to $22.00. This role is also eligible for an overtime compensation. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
