Production Machine Operator

Line Operator – Production Department (Wheeling, IL)

A recognized leader in the art and framing industry is seeking a Line Operator for our Production department at our facility in Wheeling, IL. The primary function of this position is to operate our matboard laminator.

• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Review work orders with the liner crew and verify loading of runs.
• Notify all crew members of any production changes.
• Operate basic material handling equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the line and keep it free of debris.
• Assist machine operators with splices and roll alignments.
• Inspect raw materials and notify supervisor of any problems.
• Follow all safety rules and practices, including the lockout/tagout program.
• Prep raw material rolls for manufacturing (remove outer packaging and shaft rolls).

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• Stable work history and good attendance record.
• Attention to detail and a focus on producing quality products.
• Quick learner.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to learn, including cross‑training and filling in other positions as needed.
• Professional attitude and good communication skills.
