Potential salary range for this role is $90K‑$100K. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
About the siteOur Wheeling facility focuses on precision machining of metal components, supporting high‑performance medical device manufacturing.
About the roleThe Production Supervisor offers essential leadership and guidance at the operational level, overseeing performance assessment and addressing challenges within designated areas of the facility. Furthermore, the supervisor cultivates an environment characterized by inclusivity, transparent communication, and trust, thereby enhancing team development and employee engagement.
Responsibilities- Complies with Viant Values, emphasizing safety, quality standards, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provides guidance with the resolution of technical and production issues to ensure that weekly schedules are completed in alignment with Company and Customer expectations.
- Develops and oversees the synchronization of products or production lines with the master production schedule and material planning to achieve production objectives.
- Establishes and monitors departmental performance metrics, including visual controls, and provides regular updates on progress.
- Ensures that work orders are accurately closed in Oracle and that data integrity is maintained.
- Supervises team members in a manner that promotes a safe working environment and encourages a self‑directed team approach.
- Offers leadership to team members in various aspects, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, counseling, and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintains ongoing communication regarding production, facility, and team member achievements and concerns.
- Facilitates communication, coordination, and conflict resolution within and between work groups.
- Fosters a culture of diversity, inclusion, open communication, and trust, creating opportunities for training and professional development.
- Remains adaptable to the business’ needs and undertakes additional responsibilities as required.
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Methodologies:
- Assist in analyzing production and related processes, offering recommendations for enhancements and organizing process improvement initiatives through application.
- Collaborate with Engineers to analyze production and related processes, providing recommendations for improvements and organizing process enhancement activities.
- Identify, organize, and/or deliver training to ensure a safe, efficient, and high‑quality work environment, focusing on continuous improvement.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Engineering or Business preferred
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in Manufacturing Environment
- 3+ years in Machining environment, CNC or Swiss machines
- Experience in Medical/Pharma environments
- Ability to plan and manage various aspects of the operation for a safe environment and profitable growth
- Strong organizational, time management and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong problem‑solving skills: the ability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions and arrive at effective solutions
- Exhibits a high level of energy and possesses excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience teaching and coaching the application of continuous improvement and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel competence
- Rapid Response experience preferred
- Working on the production floor, either sitting, walking, or standing
- Occasional lifting up to 25lbs
