Responsibilities

  • Comply with applicable FDA regulations and ISO requirements.
  • Adhere to the company Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform and document incoming, in-progress, and final product acceptance testing.
  • Create inspection documents and maintain the incoming inspection room.
  • Verify that documents required of suppliers, such as certificates of conformance and first article inspection results, are provided for incoming goods.
  • Use standard measuring instruments and gages for functional fit and dimensional checks.
  • Develop and maintain incoming inspection files and records.
  • Document in-house inspection results.
  • Update and maintain manufacturing product files upon final inspection and acceptance of products.
  • Log defects in the QA defect management reporting system.
  • Assist in analysis and recordkeeping for inspection data and unplanned events.
  • Create detailed Quality Reports as required.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports and work with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve problems.
  • Review the disposition of parts, sub-assemblies, and products and release finished goods into inventory.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work with Supply Chain in returning nonconforming goods to suppliers.
  • Maintain the calibration program, including reviews and approvals of calibration reports.
  • Analyze problems and recommend changes.
  • Support FDA inspections and external and internal ISO audits.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in inspection, use of calipers, blueprint reading, and micrometer handling.
  • Proficiency in documentation, quality control, and quality assurance reporting.
  • Understanding of FDA compliance, ISO standards, and cGMP.
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends in unplanned events and non-conformances.
  • Meticulous documentation and recordkeeping habits.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Office, Outlook, Visio, Word, Excel).
  • Functional understanding of the ISO International Standard and FDA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 21, Part 820.
  • Knowledge of QMS requirements, including nonconformance reporting (NCR), corrective and preventive action (CAPA).
  • Familiarity with incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspection techniques, and the use of gages and standard measuring instruments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, IL.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
