Basic Functions
Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Demonstrates excellent customer service. Consistently prepares drinks by following recipes. Maintains bar and equipment in “like new” condition and follows all sanitation and health guidelines. Demonstrates accuracy in all cash handling procedures.
Essential Functions- Mixes and serves drinks for guests in the bar as they are ordered.
- Mixes and serves drinks for waiters as they are ordered.
- Properly records and calculates all guests orders in the bar tickets.
- Returns correct change or charges voucher to guests in a timely manner.
- Follows all cash-handling procedures and policies.
- Takes food orders for guest at the bar.
- Cleans, stocks, and maintains the bar through out shift.
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
- Serves drinks in clean and polished glassware.
- Cleans up and re-settles the bar after completion of service.
- Properly records and writes-off of all complimentary drinks.
- Restocks the bar.
- Communicates information regarding guest requests, out-of-stock items, and new products to all employees and managers.
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed as requested by a manager at any time.
- High school diploma, and prior experience in a bar and restaurant.
- Knowledge of standard alcoholic recipes.
- Basic math skills.
- Understanding of federal, state and local liquor laws.
- English language and professional communications skills are required.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have problem-solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
- Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
- This position will spend 95% of the time standing.
- This position will spend 5% of the time sitting.
- Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.
- The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with correction.
- Must be able to see to 20/20 vision with correction.
Must be able to work under moderate supervision.

Compensation and BenefitsAverage hourly with gratuity $45.00/HR. After one year of 30+ hrs worked per wk (eligibility threshold) benefits are offered: BCBS Medical (PPO and HMO), Delta Dental, Eye Med Vision, Life Insurance and STD eligible on first of the month following first year anniv. Illinois Paid Leave (Sick Pay) is accrued at the rate of 1 hour of ILPL for every 40 hrs worked to a max accrual of 40 hrs/yr.
