Position Overview
Field Service Technician – Wheeling, WV – Full‑time, non‑exempt
Seeking an entry‑level Conveyor Belting Technician, mechanically inclined, to perform splices, installations, and other field‑service and warehouse tasks as required.
Responsibilities- Maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Field Service Supervisors and team members to achieve goals and objectives.
- Understand overall quality processes and documentation; communicate concerns to management.
- Provide onsite customer service and perform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized splices.
- Use tools and machinery applicable to the job.
- Travel as part of the job.
- Perform additional duties as trained and qualified.
- Available for overtime, evenings, weekends, and nights as required.
- Capable of traveling to out‑of‑town jobs.
- Excellent customer‑service skills and professional interaction with customers and teammates.
- Basic mechanical skills, including hand tools.
- Basic computer skills (internet and email).
- Ability to apply OSHA and MSHA standards – training provided.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and safely operate a company truck.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
- Basic math skills and accurate tape measurement.
- Capability to travel regularly.
- Background checks, drug screening, and a physical may be required by company, customer, or DOT; must pass DOT physical exam or hold a current DOT medical card.
- Experience with conveyors and conveyor components.
- Craft apprenticeship or equivalent education and production maintenance experience.
- Mechanical inclination and knowledge of machinery maintenance and repair.
- OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications.
- First aid and CPR certifications.
- Work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis.
- Ability to move freely on job site, including on uneven surfaces, ladders, stairs, and various heights.
- Ability to use mechanical equipment and tools safely.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, and comprehend safety rules and instructions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, as necessary.
