Seeking an experienced Conveyor Belting Technician who is mechanically inclined. Performs splices and installation on various types of conveyor belts and components to meet customer and industry requirements. Performs other field service and warehouse tasks, as trained and required. Reports to Field Service Supervisor or Manager.
Responsibilities- Maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Field Service Supervisors and team members to attain goals and objectives.
- Apply a good understanding of overall quality process and documentation.
- Communicate general and quality‑related concerns to management.
- Provide onsite customer service.
- Perform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized splice.
- Understand tools and machinery applicable to the job.
- Travel is a required part of job.
- Perform other duties as trained and qualified for.
- Must be able to work overtime hours, evening and weekends, when required.
- Must be able to travel to out‑of‑town jobs, as needed.
- Possess excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with customers and team‑members in a professional manner.
- Basic mechanical skills including use of hand tools.
- Basic computer skills including internet and email.
- Must be able to apply OSHA and MSHA standards as applicable (training will be provided).
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- At least 3 years of experience working with conveyors and conveyor components.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to safely drive a Company truck.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, as required.
- Basic math skills.
- Properly measure with a tape measure.
- Travel regularly.
- Background checks and drug screening may be required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical exam or have a current DOT medical card.
- Experience working with conveyors and conveyor components.
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent education and production maintenance experience.
- Mechanically inclined knowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery.
- OSHA
10 and MSHA certifications. - First aid and CPR certifications.
This role may include a mix of customer onsite work and warehouse floor environments. Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Reasonable accommodations are available to support individuals with disabilities. Key physical abilities include:
- Pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Move freely throughout the job site, including on uneven surfaces.
- Work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Work at varying work‑surface levels and machine operation heights.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders or stairs.
- Comprehend and follow safety procedures and instructions.
- Properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools.
- Enter and exit a service vehicle multiple times per day.
- Inspect products for wear, damage, and leaks.
- Respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, hearing protection, hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.
