Wireman or Apprentice Electrician - Full-Time | Competitive Pay | Leadership Role in Generator Installation.
Location:
Wheeling, IL.
Assist the supervising electrician on all installation of ATS and Generators.
Key Responsibilities- Review sold job folders and confirm all electrical scope aligns with code and Generator Supercenter standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and trace wiring issues during installation and service.
- Support load testing of generator systems and ensure operational compliance.
- Assist in project preparation, including trenching, conduit routing, and setting mechanical components.
- Perform AC/DC wiring and read electrical diagrams and blueprints with precision.
- Install electrical equipment and components including panels, ATS units, wiring, conduit, and controls.
- Utilize electrical testing and measurement tools proficiently.
- Promote job site safety, cleanliness, and team collaboration.
- Support and train electrical technicians, as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of professional electrical experience (generator installation experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
- Proficient in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience working with conduit, electrical panels, transfer switches, and backup power systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Safety-minded and detail-oriented with a commitment to code compliance.
