What you can expect as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star

When you join our team, you'll have opportunities for growth. You will be essential to many functions including the following:

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including
  • Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Remove and install panels and components.
  • Troubleshoot and problem‑solve aircraft system/component issues.
  • Defuel aircraft.
  • Perform engine removal/installations.
  • Operate ground support equipment.
  • Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components.
  • Assist in aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing.
  • Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment and tooling.
  • Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals and maintenance databases.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly in English (speak, write, read).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Your Education

High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience

AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred). 0–2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar. Limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance. Requires close supervision.

AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred). 2–4 years of experience. Prefer experience on corporate aircraft. Requires general supervision.

AMT III: Airframe license required;
Powerplant license highly preferred. 4–6+ years of experience. Highly preferred experience on corporate aircraft. Requires general supervision for routine tasks.

AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license required. 6+ years of experience. Must have extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms. Subject‑matter expert.

Your Sense Of Responsibility
  • Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
  • Have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules.
  • Maintain customer‑oriented work habits.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting.
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
  • Climb ladders and stairs; work in small, restricted areas.
  • Stand for long periods.
Mental Requirements
  • Understand and implement regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
  • Work with others in a professional manner.
Supervision
  • Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance.
  • May be directed to supervise other technicians.
Working Conditions
  • Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations.
  • Work outside during aircraft runs.
  • Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
Equipment Used
  • Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
  • Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices.
  • Tugs, power carts and other engine‑powered equipment.
