SOCIAL WORKER - POLICE DEPARTMENT
Village of Wheeling, Illinois
Full-Time | Exempt | Range 6: $82,000 - $115,800
The Village of Wheeling Police Department is seeking a licensed Social Worker to provide crisis intervention, counseling, and case management services to residents in collaboration with law enforcement and emergency services.
Responsibilities- Respond to police calls requiring social work intervention (mental health crises, domestic violence, elder welfare)
- Provide individual and family counseling and crisis intervention services
- Connect residents with community resources and support services
- Conduct home visits and community-based interventions
- Collaborate with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and social service agencies
- Master s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
- Current Illinois licensure (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- Valid Illinois driver s license
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Police social work or psychiatric hospital experience
- Bilingual:
Spanish, Russian, or Ukrainian
