Shipping and Logistics Specialist
Summary of Primary Function:
Shipping and Logistics specialist will be responsible to ensure seamless execution of shipping operations by coordinating logistics, addressing issues, maintaining compliance and supporting operations to achieve on‑time delivery performance.
Essential Functions- Monitor and process sales orders ready from production, review backlog of machine and service parts.
- Track requested dates of sales orders and ensure timely execution of packing and shipment to achieve on‑time delivery.
- Coordinate domestic and international transportation and arrange special or expedited deliveries based on business needs.
- Serve as single point contact with freight companies for outbound logistics.
- Maintain accurate system uploads, freight logs, cost/loss reports, and cycle count requests.
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies for packing cells.
- Assist receiving and parts team as needed.
- Partner with receiving department on ETAs for missed parts, RMA, and shop floor inventory accuracy.
- Facilitate RMAs as needed.
- Manage BP Logix workflow and process as required.
- Transfer parts inventory via required systems.
- Manage JDE cycle counts.
- Manage hazardous material shipments, track delivery errors, and ensure adherence to shipping regulations.
- Resolve shipping issues with internal teams and external customers, collaborate across departments for smooth transportation arrangements, and serve as the main contact for project‑specific logistics.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 2‑year degree preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in shipping and with international shipments.
- Experience in J.D. Edwards or similar ERP software.
- Knowledge of logistics software or transport management systems.
- Previous experience performing cycle counts/inventory monitoring.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. currency with the ability to convert to foreign currency, as well as a variety of weight measurements, volumes, and distances.
- Standing, walking, reaching, and bending for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Starting compensation: $25.00 per hour.
