Seeking experienced Building Maintenance Technician for Plant in Allentown, PA.
General Maintenance Tech:Hourly General hours are M-F 7am to 4pm, but there are projects that may require after hours or weekends that would be paid as OT.
The Senior General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of facility infrastructure, production equipment, and building systems. This position serves as the technical expert for maintenance operations, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe operation. The Senior GM Technician provides mentoring to maintenance staff, supports preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and asset performance.
RolePurpose
To maintain the reliability, safety, and efficiency of facility assets by performing complex maintenance tasks, leading technical problem-solving efforts, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs- Perform advanced preventive and predictive maintenance on facility and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures using root cause analysis techniques.
- Complete emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior maintenance technicians.
- Assist supervisors in assigning work and prioritizing maintenance activities.
- Train new employees on maintenance procedures and safe work practices.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance strategies.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacement based on lifecycle analysis.
- Follow OSHA and company safety policies.
- Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and corrective actions.
- Document completed work orders accurately in the CMMS.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment histories, and spare parts usage.
- Assist with developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives.
- Participate in Kaizen events and reliability improvement projects.
- Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field is desirable.
- 7–10+ years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated expertise across multiple maintenance disciplines.
- Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, data center, or commercial facilities preferred.
