basic function: under the direction of the lead equipment mechanic, perform skilled work in the maintenance and repair of district vehicles and other equipment; provide emergency services to student and staff vehicles.

representative duties: diagnose, repair and maintain motorized equipment such as automobiles, trucks, tractors, power lawn mowers and other mechanical equipment. Provide emergency services to student and staff vehicles. Plan, implement and perform regular repair and routine maintenance of district vehicles; perform safety checks and inspections. Repair and overhaul engines; replace and adjust bearings; adjust ignition and carburetors; perform minor body and radiator repair work.

Assemble transmissions and differentials; fit pistons and rings; overhaul steering mechanisms and drive shafts. Reline and adjust brakes; align wheels and install axles. Perform electrical and acetylene welding work as…
