Enlisted Maintenance Management

Maintenance Managers are instrumental in sustaining global operational capabilities by ensuring the continuous readiness of a spectrum of equipment, from state-of-the-art aircraft and strategic missile systems to vital high-performance jet engines. Leveraging their expertise in data analysis, they optimize maintenance operations, identify potential risks, and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime and maximize resource utilization. Working in close partnership with maintenance personnel, they develop and implement proactive maintenance schedules to enhance equipment reliability and extend operational life cycles.

By meticulously collecting and analyzing maintenance data, they identify trends, predict potential failures, and optimize resource allocation, ensuring maximum efficiency within budget and schedule constraints. Their comprehensive reports and actionable recommendations empower leadership to make informed decisions that directly impact the Air Force's ability to meet its operational demands.

What You'll Do
  • Develop maintenance plans and create production schedules to meet operational requirements.
  • Collect and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, predict failures, and improve resource allocation.
  • Report findings and recommendations to leadership, informing decisions that impact Air Force operations.
  • Schedule maintenance tasks, establish work priorities, monitor maintenance completion to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Perform analytical studies to identify trends in material deficiencies, evaluate man-hour costs and report deviations from standards.
Training & Education

Key Things To Consider Requirements

You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.

  • You must be 17–42 years of age, a U.S. citizen and obtain a qualifying ASVAB score.

    High School Students may start their application as early as the end of their junior year.

    Applicants who are non-graduates or non-alternate credential holders must obtain an AFQT Test score of 65 or higher on the ASVAB.

  • 55 General (G)
    • Knowledge of operations and maintenance management of aerospace vehicles
    • Completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit
    • Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
    • Must be at least 17, but has not reached age 42 on the date of enlistment
