Job Description

Perform routine duties related to requisitioning, ordering, shipping, issuing, and controlling materials, parts, and tools. Provide hand tools, shop supplies, and equipment support for the maintenance complex.

Responsibilities

Receive, store, and issue hand tools, replacement tools, shop supplies, and equipment.

Keep records of tools issued to and returned by workers.

Search for lost or misplaced tools and notify supervision as required.

Prepare inventory and requisitions for stock as needed.

Unpack and store new equipment.

Visually inspect tools for wear and defects and order replacements as necessary.

Attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment.

Assist Repair Cycle Specialist (RCS) in maintaining inventories on parts, tools, and equipment.

Assist RCS with ordering tools, parts, and equipment within the control of the tool room facility.

Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with MSDS and applicable regulations.

Maintain technical order routes, E-Tools, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, and hazardous waste areas.

Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.

Assist other personnel and work centers as directed.

Follow technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of general hand tools, self‑study of AF technical orders, manuals, and regulations. Must read AF, technical orders, manuals, and regulations.
Education: Must have completed high school or an equivalent diploma. Must read, write, and comprehend technical instructions.
Experience: Must possess mandatory computer skills.
Special Conditions: Must possess a valid driver's license to obtain flight line driving privileges.

Working Conditions

Must be able to lift a minimum weight of 50 lbs.
Must lift mandatory required physical exertion.
Must stand or stoop for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
Must have normal color vision.
