Overview
This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
ResponsibilitiesFacilities Welder includes:
Have a minimum knowledge of shapes, weights and sizes of materials and how to use them. Have a minimum knowledge of layout and design of structures, architectural and mechanical.
- Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift.
- Must complete a welding test before hire.
- All Candidates must pass the Work Keys Assessment or provide verification that they have passed the Work Keys Assessment. Delay in completing your Work Keys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.

Any person scheduling their Work Keys Assessment will be required to present two (2) forms of identification to be verified before their scheduled date for the Work Keys assessment. - 2+ years of experience.
- experience with infrastructure repair
- experience with facilities maintenance
- Mechanical trailer repair
- MIG, TIG and STIK experience
This is a union-represented position.
Pay$25.09/hour, with potential to earn up to $43.13/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
Kansas Tax CreditJoin Spirit Aero Systems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years. for more information on the tax credit.
