Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Maintenance Manager
Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor leads dynamic maintenance teams to install, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on critical equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse. The role focuses on ensuring smooth plant operations, reducing mechanical downtime, and maximizing production efficiency.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise teams of maintenance mechanics and electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and machine repairs.
- Train and develop employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
- Supervise and support maintenance systems, processes, and documentation to ensure high performance.
- Coordinate maintenance scheduling with production to address equipment and facility repairs.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance systems (TPM, SOPs, safety, etc.) and provide day‑to‑day troubleshooting support.
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring maintenance performance, including supplier and contractor performance, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Provide regular status reports to the maintenance management team.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with USDA regulations and maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory.
- Assume responsibility for completing or delegating required tasks in the absence of key personnel.
- Drive a positive employee experience through coaching, development, and fostering a collaborative workplace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading training, coaching or mentoring of less experienced staff, or managing a process or project.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills for high‑level process issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed.
- Advanced technical knowledge in ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boiler, compressed air, mechanical and electrical fields (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering).
- Experience in resource planning within a large manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance systems, work‑order processes, TPM, inventory, and scheduling software.
- Strong leadership qualities such as conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, empowerment, and delegation.
- Excellent planning and priority‑setting skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Respectful, approachable, and team‑oriented with a focus on building positive working relationships.
- Bilingual capabilities (preferred).
