Housekeeper (S)
Work in this class involves the cleaning and minor maintenance of an assigned area. Positions perform a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of State facilities. Duties may include physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture, operating heavy cleaning equipment, and delivering large quantities of housekeeping supplies. Work is performed under close supervision, guided by a daily schedule for general assignments and specific instructions for special assignments.
Work is reviewed through inspections and frequent consultation with supervisory personnel.
Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $48,810
- Must have thorough knowledge of techniques involved in stripping and waxing floors including, buffing, sweeping, mopping, top scrubbing, deep cleaning and general floor care and maintenance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and follow oral or written instructions.
- Must have skills in the use and care of floor maintenance equipment.
Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC), located in Wilson, NC, is a state‑operated certified Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). With a staff of about 520, LNMTC provides support to approximately 200 residents with complex medical needs and/or co‑existing neuro‑cognitive disorders.
THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHER EVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES.
Positions in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities shall be subject to pre‑employment drug testing and criminal record background checks. All employees are required to adhere to the facility’s Vaccination Policy.
Minimum Education and ExperienceEducation and/or experience in housekeeping work that is directly related to the job.
Veteran’s and National Guard PreferenceApplicants seeking Veteran’s Preference must attach a DD‑214 Member‑4 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications. Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing. Applicants who are former member of the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.
