Overview
Large metal manufacturer is looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician provides direct maintenance support for production equipment during unscheduled downtimes and scheduled preventative maintenance. The technician works closely with the operations team, technical personnel, and area supervisors to meet or exceed goals for safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities- Follows all safety regulations and basic rules and regulations per company policy
- Maintains and repairs production equipment; administers preventative maintenance programs and procedures
- Inspects equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
- Supports the installation of new equipment and participates in equipment training
- Competently uses maintenance technician skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Conducts general building maintenance and coordinates activities with building contractors
- Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas
- Able to perform essential job functions outside of normal working hours as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- A minimum of 2 years prior manufacturing maintenance experience
- Associates degree or Certification within Industrial Manufacturing, Maintenance or Electronics is preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, plant equipment, air compressors, HVAC, etc.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems such as PLCs, drives, servos, motors, plant electrical, control panels
- Basic fabrication skills
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and operating principles of motors
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment up to 480V
1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm) with some “on-call” and off-shift hours (1 opening)
