Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Emergency Crisis Mgmt/ Disaster Relief
At Spirit Aero Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, this role supports Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”), which designs and builds commercial aerostructures for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, focusing on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.
Position Responsibilities- Develops, administers and provides fire protection services for safeguarding people, the environment, and property consistent with company or government requirements.
- Responds to calls for fire protection, conducts service checks for fire protection equipment.
- Plans and provides inspections for fire protection systems, fire extinguishers, building inspections, and related inspections.
- Responds to calls for emergencies including hazardous materials incidents, technical rescue, confined space rescue, fire incidents, emergency medical emergencies, and performs incident command roles.
- Conducts inspection and testing of fire protection equipment, valves, hydrants and fire suppression equipment.
- Issues permits for hot work, confined space and excavation tasks for company and contract personnel.
- Ensures compliance with written policies and procedures in all phases of company operations.
- Interfaces with government agencies, local and state level fire agencies.
- Conducts fire inspections for company offices and building projects, completing fire inspection reports.
- Prepares building pre‑plans for fire and emergency response, and completes pre‑planning reports.
- Kansas Certified EMT, AEMT or Paramedic
- 7+ years of progressive fire service or EMS experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Firefighter I and II
- Fire Inspector
- HAZMAT Technician
- Technical Rescuer Technician
- ARFF
- NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700

Summary Pay Range – Senior Level (Level
4): $59,950 – $91,950
Kansas Tax Credit:
You may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
