Performs routine manual work in cleaning, servicing, and stocking supplies in University buildings.

Cleans and services assigned areas in University buildings and maintains sufficient stock and supplies for the proper performance of these duties. Sweeps, mops, and buffs and sprays buff floors andvacuums rugs and carpets in assigned area as needed. Cleans restrooms, offices, and replenishes supplies. Washes windows, walls,and other assigned areas. Picks up trash, empties garbagecontainers, and removes all trash to area for disposal.

Shovels andremoves snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalksand entryways as required.

• Ability to learn the operation and care of equipment,including, but not limited to: vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines,polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with fellow workers andothers.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Ability to understand and follow explicit instructions, both inoral and written form.
• Ability and willingness to perform any of a variety of routine cleaning tasks.

Ability to position self to clean designated areas, equipment anditems. This includes but is not limited to the ability to clean in confined, elevated, and loud noise spaces. Ability to use tools,equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includesdexterity in instrument manipulation. Ability to move, transport,and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment. Ability to remove snow and ice from designated areas. Ability to ascend and descendladders and/or stairs.

Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/orup to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds offorce to constantly move objects.
