The Aircraft Detail Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Wichita, KS. This role is responsible for performing detailed cleaning and appearance services on aircraft exteriors and interiors, including washing, polishing, waxing, brightwork care, and interior detailing of surfaces, upholstery, and fixtures. The technician follows approved procedures and uses aviation-approved materials to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
Daily responsibilities include inspecting aircraft for appearance issues, documenting work performed, adhering to schedules, and collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet service expectations. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following safety protocols, and supporting continuous improvement in detailing processes.
- Candidates should possess skills related to Aircraft Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair to ensure safe and effective detailing in an operational aviation environment.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Aircraft Structures to work safely around airframes, surfaces, and components during cleaning and polishing tasks.
- Candidates should possess an understanding of Power Plant and Aircraft Systems sufficient to avoid damage to sensitive areas and to comply with handling procedures.
- Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, working in varying weather conditions, and lifting moderate weights.
- Commitment to safety practices, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company and airport regulations.
- Previous experience in aviation, detailing, or industrial cleaning is beneficial but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
- Reliable transportation to the Wichita, KS worksite and availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
