KVC Camber Children's Mental Health

Work Somewhere Your Work Matters

If you’re the person who sees a broken door, leaking pipe, damaged wall, or maintenance problem and thinks, “I can fix that,” we want to hear from you.

At Camber Children's Mental Health, maintenance is more than keeping a building running. You help create safe, welcoming, functional environments where people can heal, grow, and move forward.

We’re proud that our team reports an 83 Work Wellbeing Score on Indeed — a reflection of the experience employees have working here.

This is not a job for someone who needs a step-by-step manual for every repair. It’s for a dependable, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in doing quality work, can work independently, and understands that the environment you maintain directly impacts the people we serve.

Must be 20 years of age or older to apply

Completion of at least 10th grade required; high school diploma or GED from an accredited high school preferred

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and moving materials and equipment

Basic hands-on trade and maintenance skills

Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for urgent facility needs

What You’ll Do
  • Repairing drywall, patching walls, and painting
  • Troubleshooting and repairing basic plumbing issues, including pipes, fixtures, and leaks
  • Performing minor electrical repairs
  • Repairing doors, windows, furniture, fences, and other facility items
  • Building shelves and other functional items
  • Completing grounds upkeep, snow removal, and minor exterior repairs
  • Responding to urgent facility issues as part of an on-call rotation
  • Identifying maintenance problems before they become bigger problems
  • Completing other maintenance and facility-related duties as needed
  • Every day can look a little different. You’ll use your judgement, mechanical aptitude, and practical trade skills to keep things moving.
We’re Looking for Someone Who
  • Can independently perform drywall repair, painting, basic plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs
  • Have basic mechanical aptitude and know how to troubleshoot problems without constant direction
  • Are reliable, steady, and take personal pride in completing work correctly
  • Can work independently and manage your responsibilities without constant supervision
  • Are comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
  • Can respond when urgent facility issues arise
  • Are comfortable working in a mission-driven behavioral health environment
  • Understand that professionalism, reliability, and respect matter when working around the people we serve
  • Related experience or training is preferred, including one to three months of experience in maintenance, construction, facilities, or a related field.
The Physical Side of the Job

This is a hands-on, physical position. You should be comfortable standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in a variety of positions throughout the day.

The position regularly involves lifting and moving items, with occasional lifting of heavier materials and equipment up to 75 pounds.

You may work indoors and outdoors and may occasionally encounter varying weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
