Custodian (Overnight Shift

Job Overview

Overnight shift custodian (Monday‑Friday 10:00 pm‑6:30 am) in the Campus Support Services department. Position offers competitive starting hourly rate and generous benefits package, including tuition remission for employee and dependents.

• Daily cleaning of restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and office areas in campus facilities, including residence halls, athletic areas, administrative and academic buildings.
• Operate light floor machines and attachments (vacuum, floor buffer, carpet extractor, etc.).
• Perform general maintenance tasks: replacing light bulbs, plunging toilets, etc.
• Assist with event set‑ups and seasonal grounds maintenance.
• Remove and transport garbage and recyclables from throughout campus.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position.
• Proficient technical skills to perform associated tasks.
• Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel, and web‑based applications).
• Must successfully pass a background check.

Employment at Wilkes is contingent upon a thorough background screening. PA Act 153 requires that persons working in positions with regular and unsupervised contact with minors complete additional clearances, including FBI fingerprinting and PA criminal and child abuse clearances.
