Certified Pool Operator Job Description

Hourly $23.00.

Overview

The Certified Pool Operator is responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the Resort Pools for a large property with high seasonal, weekend, and holiday demands.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain water quality according to and above state standards including:
    • Required chemical checks every two hours during shift
    • Address all water chemistry issues
    • Maintain a vacuuming schedule for all bodies of water
  • Maintain a safe and clean pool deck area:
    • Inspect safety equipment for proper placement and in date
    • No hazardous materials or objects present
    • Keep decks organized and clear of debris
    • Maintain a washing schedule for all pool decks and deck furniture
  • Maintain a functional and organized pump room environment:
    • Filters are back washed
    • Pump filter baskets are clear
    • Chlorine pumps are functional, lines are clean
    • Chemical Controllers are calibrated and functioning
    • Pump room is kept clear of debris
    • Materials are stocked, available and in their labeled area
  • Ensure Chemical room is up to code and stocked:
    • Chlorine barrels are full and present
    • Chemicals are stocked and in their labeled area
  • Work with the Director of Engineering to consistently improve facility procedures and standards
  • Other duties may include routine property maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry and preventive maintenance.
  • Performs other work related duties as assigned
  • Performs work related duties during day and night, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Qualified applicants will have a current Certified Pool Operators (CPO) license
  • Must be able to lift, move, and handle chemicals responsibly
  • Must be a Team player
  • Decision making and judgment focused on safety, prevention, and a high-quality guest experience.
Work Environment
  • Work is mostly performed outdoors and in all weather conditions during the day or night. Work includes the use of or to be nearby large, loud operating equipment, systems, high-voltage electric systems and uneven terrain.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to:

  • Walk, sit, stand, squat, and crawl in a lying position.
  • Lift in excess of 50lbs.
  • Sit and operate equipment in rough and finished terrain for long periods of time.
  • Utilize hands and wrists with high dexterity to use all common hand and power tools.
Position Type & Expected Work Hours
  • Hourly Non-exempt, full-time, year-round.
  • In-season: up to 6-days per week (Approximately 40-44 hours), Off-season: 5-days per week (Approximately 32-40 hours per week).
