Environmental Services Floor Technician

Williamsburg Landing, a leading not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Virginia, is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Floor Technician to join our Facilities & Maintenance team. This role is integral in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety in our community, ensuring our residential areas, including independent living and skilled care facilities, are both welcoming and hygienically maintained. As an Environmental Services Floor Technician, you will specialize in floor care maintenance and contribute to the health and well-being of our residents by upholding our commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and comprehensive floor maintenance tasks including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing floors in accordance with the specified schedule or as directed.
• Utilize proper techniques and cleaning equipment for efficient infection control and safety.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests to prevent slips and falls or other safety risks.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, performing minor repairs and requesting repairs or replacements when necessary.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and community standards.
• Collaborate with other facilities staff and departments to ensure consistency in cleanliness and to address any specific hygiene concerns.
• Report on inventory needs for cleaning supplies and equipment maintenance.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in handling industrial floor cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and their appropriate use for different types of flooring.
• Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and operate within protocol.
• Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to carry, move, and handle heavy equipment.
