Are you mechanically inclined, organized, and enjoy solving problems? BENCO is looking for a Fleet Coordinator to help maintain and manage our fleet vehicles across northwestern North Dakota and northeastern Montana. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly by coordinating vehicle maintenance, performing preventative services, and ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on mechanical work, vendor coordination, and administrative organization.
What You'll Do- Inspect fleet vehicles and evaluate their condition through visual inspections, test drives, and diagnostic testing.
- Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, tune-ups, bulb replacements, wiper replacements, and other light repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and recommend solutions.
- Coordinate major and complex repairs with outside vendors while managing costs through warranties and service options.
- Monitor maintenance schedules and service intervals for fleet vehicles throughout northwestern North Dakota and northeastern Montana.
- Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and repair records.
- Communicate repair status, maintenance needs, and vehicle availability with management.
- Ensure shop tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe, working condition.
- Manage inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Stay current on industry best practices through ongoing learning and development opportunities.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical school certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and vehicle components both in the shop and in the field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and vendors.
