MN Farm Service Technician

Select Genetics is looking for a Farm Service Technician to join our team. This position will be based out of our Minnesota
- Willmar office and is responsible for providing on-site support to several turkey farms in the Willmar area. This may include installation, repairs, and maintenance of our equipment. The position is also responsible for education of employees and Farm Managers in the areas of animal welfare, biosecurity, safety and production standards. The ideal candidate is prompt and reliable, has superior support skills and excellent communication.

He/she will have a proven track record of internal and external customer satisfaction and is motivated to provide superior service.

• Support the Team – Oversee farm operations. Educate the team and provide the "why" and "how" to be safe, follow biosecurity, and animal welfare standards as approved by our in-house veterinary team. Complete tests to ensure bird health and wellbeing. Troubleshoot issues and resolve any requests or concerns that come up in a timely manner. Maintain relationships with customers and follow company guidelines.
• Equipment and service – Troubleshoot each problem and guide the team on how to properly use equipment. Create reports for the leadership team. Make suggestions for equipment upgrades while maintaining the current inventory, including lighting, HVAC, and animal care products.

• High school diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor's degree in Agriculture preferred.
• Ability to build strong relationships with the customer and display excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage your workflow in a timely and consistent manner.
• Ability to lift to 55 pounds.
• Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Knowledgeable about all safety requirements.
