the customer service representative (csr) forms positive relationships with customers by answering questions, providing information about district programs and events, and processing activity registration requests in a manner that is courteous and professional. As the first point of contact for customers, the csr must be well informed, friendly, and able to communicate effectively. This position requires excellent customer service skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to make sound decisions autonomously.
This is a part-time (pt-2) year-round position. Benefits listed below.supervisory responsibilities:noneoverall essential duties/responsibilities:provide information to the public regarding programming at the community recreation center and throughout the districtprocess registration requests for classes, lessons, activities, facility rentals, beach/pool, dog beach, and parking passesfield and direct telephone calls made to the community recreation center main linecommunicate facility expectations with patrons.actively support the agency's risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidentsobey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety committeepromptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisorattend and participate in required safety trainingsperform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needsreconcile and close-out daily sales receipts and daily reports using established batching proceduresfollow opening, mid-day, and closing shift responsibilities daily as outlined in the facility checklistperform opening, mid-day, and closing duties diligently and safelywalk frequent laps around the facility for safety, maintenance, and cleanliness checksactively contribute to the park district's sustainability goalssafety responsibilities:actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidentsobey all park district and departmental safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the wilmette park district safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted at the facility and propertypromptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisorattend and participate in required safety trainingreview all accident and incident reports that occur under the area of responsibility with the supervisor required skills/abilities (technology, mathematical, language):must be knowledgeable about wilmette park district facilities, staff, events, and activitiesexcellent verbal and written communication skillsability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, and procedural manualsexcellent organizational skills and attention to detail strong problem-solving skillsability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram formability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations strong computer/technology skills with the ability to learn nuances of registration softwarereasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionseducation and/or experience:high school diploma or equivalentat least two (2) years related experience preferred must be at least 18 years of agephysical requirements/work environment:prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computeroccasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and climb or balancetolerate a moderate to high noise level at times, the noise level is moderate to high at timesregularly required to talk or hearfrequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 poundsrequired certificates/licenses/registrations:nonebenefits pt hours
