Loyola Academy seeks a mission‑focused lay ecclesial minister or Jesuit for the role of Adult Faith Formation Coordinator in the division of Mission, Ministry, and Identity (MMI).
SUMMARYThis is a full‑time, exempt, 10‑month staff position with responsibilities during and after the school day, on weekends, and some evening commitments.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide or facilitate access to individual spiritual direction and the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola in various forms, including but not limited to the 19th Annotation and multi‑day retreats.
- Co‑design and implement a required, systematic, sequential program of Ignatian spiritual formation for all school personnel, focusing on the needs of the laity, in coordination with the Loyola Induction and Formation Team.
- Coordinate all aspects of Spanish Ignatian Pilgrimages.
- Coordinate the annual Spirituality Day for faculty and staff; design and lead optional group retreats and days of reflection; develop prayer resources for Advent and Lent; encourage adults to undertake individual retreats.
- Collaborate with the Loyola Induction and Formation Team on orientation days for new faculty and staff, first‑ and second‑year employee retreat days, and other programming; ensure all first‑year employees complete required training expected by the Jesuit Schools Network and/or Midwest Province.
- Promote formation resources and professional development opportunities offered by the Jesuit Schools Network, Educate Magis, America Media, and other Catholic and Jesuit sources.
- Collaborate with Campus Ministers and the Ignatian Service Learning and Engagement teams to develop retreat and/or service programming for parents and alumni.
- Guide the adults in the Loyola Academy community to practice communal discernment as a regular part of decision making.
- Serve on the Vocations Promotion Team.
- Work with campus ministers and the athletic department to provide Ignatian formation to coaches.
- Be available for pastoral care for the adults in the community.
- Collect, organize, analyze, report, and store qualitative and quantitative data about adult programming; share relevant data with school leadership.
- Manage the budget for adult Ignatian formation.
- Actively participate in regular self‑reflection, observation, evaluation, professional development, conference attendance, and ongoing formation for mission.
- Complete various duties as assigned by the Vice President of Mission, Ministry, and Identity.
- Bachelor's degree in education or theology;
Master’s degree in divinity, theology, pastoral ministry/pastoral care and counseling, or a related field preferred. - Certification as a spiritual director and training to give the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola in the 19th Annotation format expected at application or within two years of starting.
- Impeccable written communication skills; experience advising on school‑wide communications required.
- Experience as a skilled public speaker and prayer leader, both extemporaneous prayer and leading prayer services, required.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Practicing Roman Catholic preferred.
The standard working week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually.
