Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 per hour. Rate determined by candidate's experience.
Position:
Registered Nurse – Postpartum (Night Shift)
Location:
Evanston Hospital, Evanston, IL
Schedule:
Full Time, 36 hours per week with weekend rotation). Float to Antepartum/ISCU/Highland Park LDRP as needed.
The Registered Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The RN collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other clinical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
What You Will Do- Develop a plan of care with interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
- Evaluate patient progress, revise diagnoses and interventions as needed.
- Perform patient assessment and collect health data involving patients, families, and providers.
- Communicate care plans and patient data to patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document health data, interventions, and communications.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on assessment.
- Assess cultural background, learning style, barriers, and adjust teaching accordingly.
- Provide teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care, and drug information when appropriate.
- Identify community resources for patient self‑management.
- Contribute to professional development of peers, students, and other healthcare providers.
- Assign or delegate tasks as needed.
- Provide psychological support in a compassionate environment.
- Assist technical staff with contrast injection, venipuncture, drug administration, O2 therapy, and IV management.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research.
- Keep abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through professional networking and ongoing education.
- Conduct daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients if skilled.
- Monitor effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and skin care.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
- Current professional nursing licensure in the State of IL.
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing; BSN strongly preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 2 years postpartum or acute care nursing experience; strongly preferred.
- Postpartum experience preferred.
