Hagley Museum and Library — one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier historic sites — is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the Soda House facility. This is a great opportunity to work in a unique, historic environment while contributing to the visitor experience at one of Delaware’s most treasured landmarks.

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the Soda House facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners; transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, windowsills, and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and doors as needed.
• Restock restroom supplies including paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap.
• Maintain cleanliness of entryways, lobbies, and common areas.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform other janitorial or light facilities duties as assigned.

• Prior janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment including mops, vacuums, and floor scrubbers.
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and following safety data sheet (SDS) guidelines.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs. throughout the shift.
• Respectful of a historic environment and museum setting.
