Janitor - Part Time

We seek a dedicated Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, supporting our mission to serve over 35,000 individuals with disabilities annually.

• Clean and maintain the building and grounds: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors; dusting furniture, equipment, and fixtures; cleaning metal fixtures and trimmings.
• Empty trash and remove chips, trash, and other refuse from floors, lavatories, showers, restrooms, and other areas.
• Operate floor buffer and scrubber machines to clean rugs and hard surfaces.
• Clean glass on all doorways, entrances, and office windows.
• Monitor building security and safety: lock doors after cleaning, report suspicious activity, and ensure the workplace is secure.
• Notify management of needed repairs and maintenance.
• Performs additional assignments as directed.

These duties and responsibilities are evaluated in the annual performance review.

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Previous experience in the custodial field is preferred.
• Ability to comprehend basic written and oral instructions.
• Good customer service skills, both internal and external.
• Ability to cooperate with others and maintain good personal grooming.
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly working area to maximize efficiency.

Work requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and occasional sitting and crawling. The employee may regularly lift or move products and supplies up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use power tools. Vision requirements include close, distance, and depth perception. The job may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
