Description

The Maintenance Technician III serves as the senior technical resource within the Maintenance Operations team at Light Force Orthodontics. This position provides advanced troubleshooting, repair, and reliability expertise for production equipment and facility systems while supporting safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations. The Maintenance Technician III works independently with minimal supervision, serves as the primary escalation point for complex equipment issues, and provides technical guidance and mentoring to Maintenance Technician I and II team members.

This role is responsible for leading complex maintenance activities, supporting maintenance programs such as preventive maintenance and calibration, driving equipment reliability improvements, and helping ensure the accuracy of maintenance documentation and records. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams, the Maintenance Technician III contributes directly to equipment uptime, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager

  • Lead diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control system failures on production equipment and facility systems. Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of furnace systems, compressed air and gas infrastructure and facility electrical system with minimal supervision.
  • Administer the calibration program by maintaining calibration schedules, performing calibrations, reviewing and auditing documentation, and ensure traceability of calibrated equipment.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for Maintenance Technician I and II personal and provide guidance during complex equipment failures.
  • Ensure team compliance with all LOTO and confined space entry procedures across all shifts.
  • Review, improve and optimize preventative maintenance (PM) task lists in CMMS to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Review all maintenance work order completion by Maintenance technician I and II for quality and accuracy. Provide coaching as needed.
  • Lead root cause investigations for recurring equipment failures, document findings, implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Serve as first responder for critical equipment issues and determine appropriate repair strategies, escalation requirements and resource needs.
  • Provide formal and informal training mentorship and technical development support to Maintenance Technician I and II personnel. Maintain training records and serve as a Qualified Trainer for the team.
  • Support new equipment installations, commissioning activities, facility upgrades and maintenance-related improvement projects.
  • Partner with production, engineering, quality and operations teams to resolve issues and minimize manufacturing downtime.
  • Lead equipment reliability initiatives through preventative maintenance optimization, equipment condition monitoring, failure analysis and continuous improvement
